A Forelock and a Fingernail Scissors

(as remembered by Ted)

Art was traveling with his parents Hans and Danielle on a train (perhaps their trans-Siberian trip, perhaps around 1930) when Art was 8. Father Hans dozed off, his prized forelock (nearly the only remaining hair on his bald head) flying askew. Mother Danielle saw her opportunity. Handing a fingernail scissors to young Arthur, she pointed to the forelock and encouraged Art to play a little trick on Dad. Off went the forelock, leaving a completely bald Hans. When he awoke, he was not amused, to say the least. But the deed was done, and the forelock did not return.
