PhotoTouch Application (Freeware)
PhotoTouch is an application Ted wrote to manipulate the filenames of photos in a folder to identify groups of photos, and to set their display order. There’s a pretty good help file in the app, and as you start it you’ll be reminded that you install and use the app at your own risk.
To install it:
- delete any prior copies of PhotoTouch you may have installed
- download the ZIP fileextract the files to a temporary folder you create on your local machine (you can’t install from the ZIP file directly)
- run “setup.exe”accept all the warnings about applications that haven’t paid a fee to Microsoft
- once installed, you can delete the temporary folder
- the program is installed under “NLT Tools” on your start menu
- an error about the persistence file is normal the first time you run after installation or an update
MetaCaption Application (Freeware)
MetaCaption is a program Ted wrote to more quickly apply Title and Description metadata to JPG image files. This metadata can be seen and edited using the normal Windows File Explorer (properties/details). Note that you install and run this free application at your own risk. Ted and North Latitude Technology require you to accept all risk if you choose to use it.
To install it:
- delete any prior copies of MetaCaption you may have installed
- download the ZIP file
- extract the files to a temporary folder you create on your local machine (you can’t install from the ZIP file directly)
- run “setup.exe”
- accept all the warnings about applications that haven’t paid a fee to Microsoft
